River Flows

The river flows - its looking for rest in the valley
I wish that I could find some rest here too
Well, I ought to know - I've been here so long
that it feels like a lifetime now,
though every day is new
There's mountains that I wanna climb,
from here I see them all
Oh, but it just might be a waste of time
if I should slip and fall
The river is right, Its seeking the only direction
to find its way, a way down to the sea
And look at the light, playfully casting reflections
its not afraid to fail and fade on me
I've tried so many times before,
but pieces of my mind
keep building up a heavy magic door
that I am locked behind
But I'm coming. It might take some time
to open up that door; get out and breathe the air
Yes, I'm coming. It might take some time
but step by step, Ill finally be there
Where the sun reflected sea will become
a part of me
The heart in me
I hear a voice somewhere inside of me
that keeps reminding me of things I see so clear
No easy choice; to live in the the past
gives me shelter - a simple way to keep
from being here
The voice will help me face it though it goes
against my grain
but looking back just satisfies the one
who's satisfied with pain
And its calling. It might take some time
to open up that door, get out and breathe some air
Yes, its calling. It might take some time
but step by step, for sure, Ill finally be there
Where the sun reflected sea will become
a part of me
The heart in me
